The Quality and Clinical Care Innovation team works to facilitate grass root innovation in care delivery. We work to improve the quality of care today while facilitating the design, evaluation and implementation of new models of care. We aim to impact change that will result in excellent care experiences and outcomes for patients and providers and that will position Princess Margaret as a leader in innovation in care delivery.
The PROGRAM MANAGER will oversee the planning and implementation of key strategic clinical priorities together with clinical and operational leaders at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 to 8 years of relevant healthcare experience at the management level, and will excel at managing a diverse portfolio that includes strategic projects within clinical operations and clinical innovation in cancer care.
Res ponsibilities
Together with the Chair and Co-Chair, oversees all aspects of planning and management of the Princess Margaret Clinical Practice Committee (CPC) which has been mandated to direct integrated, effective and efficient best practices in cancer clinical operations, high quality patient care, and safe clinical service delivery. The CPC serves as a central body within PM to facilitate grass root clinical innovation, drive adoption and implementation of best practices, and continuity of care across program and disciplines.
Enables and ensures integration, alignment and alignment across clinical, technical and digital portfolios and departments related to cancer care within Princess Margaret and across UHN.
Advises leadership with determining scope and involvement in implementation of new programs and services for Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
Defines implementation needs of new programs/services; leads projects teams to plan and implement change.
Ensures effective communication, including to executive leadership, the broader PM community, patients and families, and external partners.
Develops, maintains and manages relationships with appropriate internal and external stakeholders and/or subject matter experts, at all levels of the organization.
Oversees financial analysis and development of financial processes to support implementation of strategic initiatives. Manages the team budget; allocates and oversees project resources in line with project needs and clinical/operational leadership priorities.
Manages aspects of human resources, including hiring, performance management, and coaching.
Manages employee relations issues, promoting a teamwork environment where staff can interact productively and efficiently.
Promotes and facilitates opportunities for the professional growth/development of program staff, students and volunteers.
Completion of a Master’s Degree in Business/Health Administration or a recognized equivalent required.
Six (6) – eight (8) years related healthcare management experience required; experience in cancer care is an asset.
Advanced experience in program development, change management, stakeholder engagement, evaluation, and strategic planning required.
Experience managing and leading teams and projects in a complex environment required
Detail-oriented individual with the ability to work in a high-pressure environment and successfully balance multiple competing priorities. Excellent organizational and time management skills
Able to clearly communicate complex subject matter, assess and synthesize large amounts of information for relevant issues, combined with good judgement and sound business sense.
Strong impact and influencing skills. Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
Proven ability and confidence in building relationships at all levels of an organization and building cohesiveness across diverse individual skills and styles.
A team player who enjoys a high-performance culture and is able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure on multiple assignments.
Excellent ability to evaluate options/alternatives and develop solutions/recommendations for solutions to complex and multi-dimensional problems/issues. This includes analytical, financial and reporting skills.
Superior written and verbal communications skills, including report and presentation development and facilitation and presentation experience.
Flexible and able to adapt to change.
Project management experience required. Project management certificate preferred.
Highly proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
