As an integral member of the Redevelopment department, the SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER Redevelopment Projects, manages, organizes and orchestrates construction projects, under the direction of the Senior Director, FM-PRO. This position will be predominantly on-site at 399 Bathurst.
Leading and overseeing on site construction activities, ensuring a safe site
Developing and implementing strategies to effectively manage and govern the user group planning and implementation process
Performing financial management activities related to project budgets; preparing schedules and specifications
Reporting on construction activities and progress
Having oversight of contract preparation and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
Hiring and supervising the activities of contractors, subcontractors and/or trades people
Performing quality management responsibilities
Performing administrative responsibilities to ensure the efficient and efficient operation of their portfolio and projects
Performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or requested
Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
Ensure adherence to specification and project program
Liaise with contractor, architect and subtrades
At minimum, completion of a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or recognized equivalent required.
Knowledge of Construction Management
Experience with large scale Urban projects is an asset.
Registration with the Ontario Architects Association, Professional Engineers Ontario or Professional Quantity Surveyor preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset
At minimum, 8 10 years of practical and related experience or on-the-job training required
Seven (7) years related experience in the construction industry required.
Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
