Transcription Services – University Hospital

The Health Records Clerk assists in the establishment and maintenance of health records in accordance with policies and procedures. The clerk is responsible for the daily management of the patient record including filing, photocopying and scanning of patient records, chart location, chart pulls, chart assembly and chart distribution. The Clerk also provides clerical support for Release of Information (ROI) and quality assurance (QA).

Status: Regular Full-Time

Rate of Pay: $21.69 per hour – $23.47 per hour

Hours of Work: Up to 37.5 hours per week

• Sucessful completion of a 1 year Health Records Clerk Certificate is required
• Relevant experience is an asset
• Knowledge and understanding of medico-legal aspects of chart completion as required by the Public Hospital’s Act
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to organize and prioritize work
• Proficient with Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and corporate productivity tools
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service abilities
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

• Successful candidates will be required to complete a health review which includes providing vaccination records or proof of immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella(Chicken Pox).
• In addition candidates will need to provide documentation of Tuberculosis Skin testing and a completed COVID vaccine series (two vaccines).
