Your Opportunity
Reporting to the Assistant Dean, the Director, Academic Operations is responsible for providing strategic input, direction, coordination and senior administrative support to assist the Vice-Principal, Academic and Dean (heretofore “the Dean”) in developing and implementing the academic goals and objectives of the Division and Campus. The Director also provides workflow coordination to ensure effective collaboration and exchange of information between the Office of the Vice-Principal, Academic and Dean (OVPAD) and partnering offices on campus and across the institution. The Director works in collaboration with the Chairs and Directors of academic units and Directors of administrative offices to improve and support evidenced-based decision making regarding academic programs and other initiatives.
The Director, Academic Operations provides strategic input and administrative support in developing, implementing, and championing projects and initiatives, and managing academic special projects. The Director’s responsibilities include oversight of staff in the following areas: Academic Programs Review & Quality Assurance; Academic Success & Integrity; Graduate Programs and Postdoctoral Affairs, and Academic Planning Policy & Projects in order to ensure that this portfolio in the OVPAD is running efficiently and optimally; and that proper business processes and systems are implemented and consistently followed. The Director provides high-level support and advice on both graduate and undergraduate University policy, governance processes, and on academic matters.
You Will Contribute To The Mission By
Overseeing and providing expert guidance for new degree programs, graduate diplomas, collaborative programs, combined degree programs and certificates; changes to existing programs including graduate courses; and decisions to close programs across their life-cycle including governance approval, external oversight, working with administrative staff and academic administrators in the Office of the Dean.
