MGTA02H3 Managing the Business Organization
Course Description:
This course serves as an introduction to the functional areas of business, including accounting, finance, production and marketing. It builds on the material covered in MGTA01H3.

Qualification:
Minimum: Relevant advanced academic degree (Master’s degree minimum); demonstrated teaching excellence, currency in and mastery of subject area; previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level; experience using technology in both delivery and maintenance of a university course; related professional experience.
Preferred: (in addition to minimum) Extensive practical experience in a management role or in management consulting; previous experience teaching large enrolment introductory-level business or management courses at the university level, with consistent and strong course evaluations.
Duties:
All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact, supervision of T.A. assigned to course.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
In considering qualified applicants, teaching excellence, currency in and mastery of subject area; previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level or similar environment; several years related professional experience shall be the criteria used in the selection of the most qualified candidate in accordance with Article 14:12.

Note: All positions involve the completion of all course grading. You must be available throughout the exam period as exams are scheduled centrally and individual preferences for exam times/dates cannot always be accommodated.

Salary: The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $9,182.42 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term $9,641.54 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $9,826.95 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,025.84 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $10,060.93 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay. Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,262.15 for a half course inclusive of vacation pay.
