The Office of the Registrar is responsible for student recruitment and admissions, direct and online service to current students, including registration, financial aid, scholarships, academic assessments, graduation and petitions. It also provides course scheduling, administration of tests and exams, enrolment data analysis and business intelligence.

Your opportunity:
The Student Recruitment Officer reports to the Manager of Student Recruitment and works closely with a team of Student Recruitment Officers (both at UTSC and in the central Office of Student Recruitment), Admissions staff, other members of the Office of the Registrar and the Office of the Dean and faculty and staff in the academic departments to implement strategies and initiatives to assist the University of Toronto Scarborough to achieve its recruitment and enrolment management objectives. They are responsible for positively representing the University to various prospective students at various recruitment activities, including but not limited to: high school and college visits, virtual events, community events and on-campus activities. Travel to various locations locally, nationally and internationally may be required for periods of up to two weeks at a time. They also develop and implement methods to ensure outstanding customer services, monitor the success of recruitment and outreach activities, and respond to and assist applicants, counsellors and stakeholders during the admissions process.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering student recruitment presentations and promoting programs at recruitment events
Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
Keeping well-informed on University programs, policies and procedures
Analyzing service delivery and/or internal processes and recommending improvements
Generating reports
Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
Directing the activities of casual staff
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
Minimum four years’ related work experience in a post-secondary environment in recruitment, admissions, or a student life or student advising role, developing and implementing student programs, facilitating presentations and fostering relationships with prospective and/or current students.
Experience coordinating events, programs and projects
Experience setting up and troubleshooting audio visual equipment (e.g., projector, screens, microphones, laptop, etc.)
Experience advising potential students
Excellent knowledge of MS Office with particular proficiency in database and spreadsheet applications, internet and email applications
Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), judgement, organizational and analytical skills
Excellent public speaking skills delivering student recruitment presentations in a variety of media and for a variety of audiences
Proven ability to interact effectively with students and the public
Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing policies and procedures

USW Pay Band 12 – $71,131 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $90,965. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
