Vancouver Airport Authority Looking for Junior Developer Trainee at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Full Time

Position Overview

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Junior Developer Trainee. Reporting to the Manager, Software Development, the successful candidate will provide software development support to the Innovation Team for the development and sustainment of the YVR Digital Twin and other in-house developed technologies. Additional software development training will be provided on the job so that the successful candidate may progress to additional software development opportunities within YVR.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Assist with digital asset creation, data integration, and software maintenance.
• Debug software related issues including minor defects in existing features, problematic areas with visual effects, or cosmetic styling.
• Work with our Musqueam colleagues to support the development of digital twin use cases that showcase Musqueam culture, language, and history.

Key Qualifications Include

• Completion of a high school diploma or GED equivalent (some post-secondary education would be an asset).
• Experience in Unity3D development and C# scripting, with experience in interactive applications and virtual environments.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail to deliver high-quality results.
• Passion for emerging technologies and a drive to stay up to date with the latest developments in Unity, digital twin, and gaming technologies.
• Preference given to Musqueam Band members.
