Vancouver Coastal Health Looking for Digital Communications Coordinator – Social at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Full Time

Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a new social media expert to join our Digital Communications Team, and if you’re someone who knows how to spot a hot social trend that can get a message out to the world, you’re ahead of the game. The Digital Communications Coordinator – Social is responsible for creating attention-grabbing social media content to assist the health authority in meeting its strategic goals of providing exceptional and convenient health care, making Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) a great place to work, and innovating for impact.

This role will work in collaboration with other communications and health care professionals to ensure effective online communications through a variety of digital marketing, web, and social media platforms. Areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to Social media content curation & creation (organic & paid), Canva-based graphic design, community engagement, copywriting, email marketing and analytics & reporting.

The successful Digital Communications Coordinator will also have the opportunity to drive the channel strategies and content creation for TikTok, Instagram Reels and other emerging tools. This role will work collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts across VCH, with frequent opportunities to own public health and brand content campaigns.

As a Digital Communications Coordinator with Vancouver Coastal Health you will

• In collaboration and with support of digital communications team members, support and facilitate the organization’s corporate social media presence on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and more. This may include, but is not limited to, content scheduling, curation and creation through Sprout Social, community engagement, and analytics and reporting.
• Plan and executes social media projects, such as public health campaigns, resource and program promotion, digital advertising, staff profiles, and more.
• Create content for TikTok and Instagram Reels, including serving as VCH’s on camera presence when appropriate
• Write effective and engaging social media copy to assist with relevant campaign goals.
• Create quick-turn graphic design assets for use on social media channels.
• Partner with clients and stakeholders across VCH to create digital content based on specific requests and vetted resources.
• Oversee effective distribution of VCH’s online internal newsletter.
• Actively seeks out opportunities to improve standardization and increase efficiencies.
• Analyze social KPIs and relevant data to support a culture of data-driven decision making.
• Maintain a general understanding of social content best practices and standards.
• Demonstrate initiative, positive attitude, and desire to progress in the field of digital communications.
• Carry out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements. Immediately reports unsafe situations by notifying supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or other relevant program, and one (1) to three (3) years’ recent, related experience in Marketing and/or Communications, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

• Experience and general competency in current digital marketing technologies and strategies.
• Social media experience and fluency, ideally with experience at a public-facing brand.
• Excellent writing abilities.
• Experience leading and managing social campaigns.
• Experience overseeing a multifaceted social media presence preferred.
• Graphic design, photography, and videography abilities preferred.
• Email marketing experience an asset but not required

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
