As a Rehabilitation Assistant with VCH you will:

Function under the operational supervision of the Manager or Team Leader and the work direction of a licensed designated occupational therapist or physiotherapist.

Provide assigned physical / occupational therapy therapeutic interventions.

Assist in modification of OT/ PT care plans and facilitate transition to community programs in order to enable clients to maximize potential for independence.

Provide functional direction to family, report relevant observations of client’s condition in writing or by utilizing basic computer literacy, manage equipment safety and inventory.
Education & Experience

Completion of a recognized Diploma level Rehabilitation Assistant Program with Occupational and Physical therapy components plus one (1) year’s recent, related experience working with target population.

Valid BC Drivers License. Local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle for which mileage will be reimbursed.

Ability to motivate clients and to encourage progression through therapeutic goals.

Demonstrated ability to provide self-care instruction and education.
The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
