Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for an Senior Administrative Secretary to join the team at Housekeeping team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!
As an Senior Administrative Secretary with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will:
- Schedule, arrange and attend meetings to take minutes;
- Type various technical and non-technical documents, communicate and report using advanced word-processing, spreadsheet and database skills;
- Compile statistical information as needed;
- Prepare and implement administrative protocols for methods of operation;
- Assist with the recruitment and orientation of new staff members;
- Liaise with the Staffing Resource Centre (SRC) to call in staff to fill vacancies resulting from vacations and various leaves of absence in accordance with applicable collective agreements;
- Receive and processe vacation and other requests from staff and respond to written and verbal enquiries from staff regarding vacation accumulations and related items;
- Arrange for the ordering of departmental supplies and equipment as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
- Grade 12, graduation from a recognized secretarial program, supplemented by recognized courses in medical transcription, plus three (3) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Ability to type 60 w.p.m.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
