Main Purpose and Function
The Credit and Collections Analyst plays a key role in recommending new credit and extensions of credit through research and analysis of financial documents. The position should have experience interacting and working with customers, to ensure their credit fits in with the current risk portfolio of the City. The position is responsible for maximizing cash flow and mitigating risk through due diligence and sound credit decisions.
The Credit and Collections analyst is responsible for securing payments on past due accounts and for evaluating the credit worthiness of prospective customers. This position requires to secure payments on past due customer accounts through follow up calls, promotion of payment methods such as Pre-Authorized debits (PARP), EFT, credit cards, etc. and successful negotiations or escalation. Consistent follow-up with internal partners for action and approvals is necessary to drive results.

Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the City of Vancouver has a Flexible Work Program. This program allows staff to work remotely 1 – 4 days a week from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a City worksite. At this time this position is eligible to be part of the Flexible Work Program.
