Key Responsibilities
Organizational and Managerial Development
Initiate and implement organizational development processes and activities according to needs identification and the company’s HR strategy.
Work with the CBO and Executive leadership team to facilitate effective collaborative working practices across the Leadership Team which percolates throughout the North American team, mutually sharing best practices with Israel
Provide the leadership team and, where appropriate, the company managers, with on-going support and tools dealing with managerial dilemmas and challenges, on-going employees’ performance management, effective communication between different departments across different geographical site, etc.
HR Strategy and Infrastructure:
Position and implement the company’s HR strategy in both the Ottawa and Cambridge sites, including but not limited to:
Compensation and benefits
Talent retention
Employee development
Succession planning
Performance and productivity
Welfare and social responsibility
Company culture and values
Initiate and implement HR policies, process, and procedures according to the management and global HR guidelines and needs identification
Labour Law and HR Best Practices:
Responsible for HR legal trainings and best practices in the company, including sexual harassment policy, disciplinary hearings, and termination process, etc.
Responsible for all preparation and documentation of legal HR documents.
Recruitment and Onboarding:Management of recruitment process “end to end”, including:
Validating job descriptions
Budget and HC approval
Screening CVs
HR interviews
Reference checks
Job offers and negotiations
Employment agreements
Responsible for new employees’ successful onboarding process.
Management of Benefits:
Responsible for the benchmarking, implementation, maintenance, and renewal of benefits for North America employees
HR Administration and Documentation:
Responsible for all admin work related to the job.
Qualifications & Experience
Relevant academic degree –a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required
4+ years’ experience in a similar HR role in a growing dynamic company
Practical HR “business partnership” and organizational design experience
Practical experience in working with senior management
Knowledge in local labor laws, HR best practices, benefits, and HR legal documentation
Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization, across many different departments
Charismatic personality and positive leadership skills
Discretion and ability to gain trust of employees at all managerial levels is a must
Independently motivated, detail oriented, and good problem-solving ability
