Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner and partnering with Hospital Managers, the HR Advisor is responsible for providing coaching and guidance to leaders on areas that impact employee performance, retention and engagement of their teams. This position works closely with the HR Business Partner for the region to action performance plans to meet the client’s people goals and supports in identifying areas for improvement and success for their regions. In order to be successful, the candidate is required to be detail oriented, organized and an independent team player who will thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing confidential information. Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day support, coaching and guidance to employees and managers on a wide range of human resources matters, including policy and legislation interpretation, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, change management, employee engagement, communication and conflict management
Oversee the investigation process, reporting of incidents, and timely resolution of complaints
Works closely with GM’s/(S)ROD’s to develop and execute people planning and set goals around people results including recognition, retention strategies, meeting best place to work and well-being criteria
Contribute to building new programs and initiatives that will enhance the associate experience and business results
Present scheduled people metrics (monthly, quarterly, annually) and provide strategic advice on continuous improvement action plans and results versus prior year
Works with management and subject matter experts to develop and deploy training programs to address talent gaps
Understand and interpret employment legislation, including health and safety, employment standards, Human Rights specializing in AB, BC, SK legislation
Partner with HR Leadership to develop and maintain strong employment brand strategies
Coach leaders to inspire performance and acknowledge behaviours
Identify areas of opportunity within the organization and build and present recommendations for solutions
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in Management, Human Resources or related degree
CHRP is considered assets to this role
Minimum of 2 years in Human Resources Advisory role
Demonstrated ability to partner with leaders on organizational design and developmental plans for their teams
Excellent leadership and management skills
Strong associate and client experience focus
Experience in adult education including experiential adult learning, coaching, and outcomes assessment
Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and make recommendations based on HR metrics and corelated business results
Advanced communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with the ability to interact and build relationships with all levels associates and management
Demonstrated ability to resolve complex HR issues
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Exceptional interpersonal skills to facilitate successful working relationships with a wide variety of team members
Excellent written and oral communication abilities
Strong public speaking, presentation, and facilitation skills
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to travel up to 20%
