VCA Canada 404 Veterinary Emergency + Referral Hospital is currently seeking a Board-Certified Small Animal Surgeon or Residency Trained Veterinarian to join our specialty health care team in our surgical department. We are looking for an engaged, patient and client centered clinician, who enjoys working with colleagues in a highly collaborative environment. You would help support our growing emergency service as well as colleagues in anesthesia, avian & exotics, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine and rehabilitation medicine.

A few key attributes and responsibilities include:
· Board Certified Surgeon or residency trained and eligible to sit for board examination
· Previous experience handling mixed surgical caseload (orthopedic, soft tissue, emergency)
· Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills
· Dedicated to promoting team-based medicine practices
· Exceptional interpersonal skills
· A passion for coaching, mentoring and supporting staff and colleagues
· Desire to contribute to practice development
· And a genuine desire to enjoy your daily work
Schedule
· 4 days preferred, though open to discussing other schedules
· Shared out of hours work required, though we emphasize a well-balanced work-life environment
Hospital Overview & Location
The 404 Veterinary Emergency + Referral Hospital in Newmarket Ontario is a multidisciplinary 24-hour emergency and referral specialty hospital. Our hospital operates out of a 12,200 square foot facility, a main building (10,000 sq. ft.) and a satellite facility (2,200 sq. ft.) located across the parking lot. We have 3 fully equipped surgical suites in the main building and a full complement of on-site diagnostic and surgical equipment. Some items include; Storz tower, Rubina system which is ICG compatible for advanced laparoscopic/thoracoscopic procedures, digital radiology, multiple ultrasound units, Toshiba Aquilion 64 Slice CT, Arthrex arthroscopy tower, two Force Triad electrical surgical systems with full complement of minimally invasive surgical equipment.
