Sales and Logistics Coordinator

As a Sales and Logistics Coordinator, your primary focus will be to work with our capacity of trucks to keep them loaded with quality load opportunities. The chosen candidate will also be responsible for bridging communications between our customers, drivers, and carriers to ensure we deliver on our promises. This role combines inside sales, account management, dispatching, and logistics all in one. You will be responsible for assessing/pricing incoming freight opportunities, searching for new opportunities, and keeping track of current shipments while optimizing the scheduling of future shipments in order to maximize profitability.

As a self-starter, you will be in daily contact with many different customers who are trying to schedule their shipments and drivers who are looking to find their next job.

What you will be doing:

• Sort through incoming emails from and decide which opportunities are worthwhile pursuing with our capacity.
• Enter new orders and update the status of current shipments to customers as they request it especially when there is an unexpected event.
• Develop relationships with drivers by learning about their preferences, capabilities, and equipment to keep them loaded with opportunities that suit them best.
• Monitor load boards for new freight opportunities and act on ones that we are well positioned to handle by calling the posted contact and establishing the terms to get the shipment moved.
• Work with sales to find the best avenue to get our customer’s freight moved.
• Negotiate with customers, broker, drivers and carriers to ensure an optimal level of service and profit-maximization.

Characteristics of a Great Candidate:

• 2 years of proven work experience in operations or dispatch is required.
• Experience in open-deck transportation operations or dispatch is encouraged but not required.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong ability to use organizational skills to plan tasks effectively and use forward thinking to predict future changes and adapt accordingly.
• Strong comprehension of various transportation methods and modes.
• Ability to manage and minimize risks associated with ambiguity.
• Strong proficiency with computer applications and software.
• Ability to exude confidence and gain credibility with drivers and carriers.
• Ability to learn quickly and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to complete work independently and remotely.

We offer a competitive base salary + a strong commission structure

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $48,000.00-$88,000.00 per year
