Business Development Representative
Location: This is a remote position – applicants much live in Canada Reporting To: Director, Business Development

We are seeking a Business Development Representative to join our dynamic, entrepreneurial team.
Overview:
You are an enthusiastic, goal-driven person with a love for pets and the people who love them! You also have an entrepreneurial mindset, are friendly, proactive, and a self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills. You are creative and detail oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for coordinating outbound calling, lead generation campaigns, and other marketing activities across various channels. You will proactively work with our Business Development Manager and Director to identify our outreach needs, current and future, and help us reach out to and interact with veterinary hospital owners while maintaining a service-oriented mindset to promote excellence in alignment with VetCare’s people-first culture and values.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Represent VetCare in the veterinary industry at PR events, conferences and online events, always being a strong Brand Ambassador for VetCare
Craft and send emails that are in keeping with our CORE VALUES
Actively contribute expertise, ideas, market intelligence and business intelligence to the team to help drive continuous improvement and business growth
Seek out opportunities for building VetCare’s brand in the Canadian veterinary industry
Identifying and building relationships with qualified animal hospital practice owners across Canada
Must be entrepreneurial – Meet cold call, outreach campaign and meeting targets
Identify and verify details of accounts using various techniques (e.g. phone, email, social media, databases)
Maintain a proprietary database of prospects on CRM software
Position Requirements
Strong communication, written and relationship building skills
Proven track record of achieving sales targets
Post-secondary degree required; 2+ years related experience in sales; experience in the veterinary industry is highly valued, but not required
Client oriented, results oriented, independent, hardworking, professional, dynamic, team player
Effective time-management abilities
