We are a non-profit charity, providing emergency shelter, counselling and support services for women of all ages, with or without children, fleeing from intimate partner violence and abuse. Details of the Position:
The Manager will work closely with the Finance Director to provide payroll, finance and accounting services, supervision and support for Victoria Women’s Transition House. The Manager reports to the Director of Finance, provides support and supervision to the Finance Team, and provides accounting and payroll services and support to agency leadership and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for support and supervision of full cycle accounting function, including cross training and service provision as required.
Responsible for support and supervision of payroll and benefits functions, including cross training and service provision as required.
Supports agency financial analysis and reporting needs.
Responsible for supporting development of agency and program operational and capital budgets and ongoing analysis and monitoring.
Assist in management and support of the annual audit, including analysis and reporting.
Assist in management and support of financial reporting to external bodies, including service contracts and agreements with funders.
Support and manage accounting, payroll and related systems development and management.
Other support to Finance Director as required.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with team members, agency staff and managers.
Qualifications:
Thus position requires an accounting degree, certificate or designation, at least three years accounting experience, preferably in a supervisory role, including: full cycle accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, budget development, audit preparation and support, payroll services provision and/or payroll management experience, and skills in accounting and payroll systems development and management. The successful candidate will have strong supervisory, support and advisory skills and the ability to meet deadlines, set priorities and work both independently and as a team leader
