Do you believe in the importance of digital-first, hyperlocal news coverage? Village Media is searching for an experienced individual to fill a 12 to 15 month contract position on the Central News Desk team that serves our rapidly-growing local news and information network.
As a Content Administrator you will be responsible for monitoring newsroom inboxes for news and information, creating posts, handling obituaries and other notices, administering reader accounts and responding to reader issues as needed for multiple community news sites across the Village Media network and partner sites.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Superior proofreading and editing skills
- Experience entering information into a Content Management System (CMS)
- Photo editing and associated editing software experience
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service skills in an office environment
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with shifting priorities, changing deadlines, and under pressure
This role is an in-office position at our Sault Ste. Marie office. The successful candidate must live in or near Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
