Volkswagen Group Canada Inc. Looking for Payroll and Benefits Administrator (12+ month contract) at Ajax, Ontario, Canada Full Time

We are currently looking for a Payroll and Benefits Administrator (12+ month contract) at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role will provide administrative and operational support for the company’s multi-province payroll function, across Volkswagen Group Canada (VGCA) and Volkswagen Credit Canada Inc. (VCCI), supporting approximately 500 employees. This incumbent will act as a back up to the Payroll Manager as needed, maintain responsibility for pension and benefit administration, and other related tasks.

**This is a flex hybrid model, requiring 2 days in the Ajax office**

Primary Responsibilities

Payroll

• Support Payroll Manager with processing of bi-weekly payroll including onboarding of new hires into Dayforce, processing final pay calculations for terminations, review overtime reports for processing, manually update contractor hours and upload to Dayforce, process cost center changes, calculate retroactive payments, manually produce Records of Employments, updated Savings Plan changes in Dayforce (pension & RRSP/TFSA)
• Back-up Payroll Manager on Monthly payroll & General Ledger (GL) postings when needed
• Extract and verify Parts Distribution Center (PDC) hours using Kronos – including manual updates for shift hours & OT
• Monitor overtime and report on a monthly basis
• Update payroll system with ongoing vehicle lease changes (eTag)
• Update and recalculate taxable benefits for assigned drivers using eTag reports, excel and Dayforce.
• Address system password resets
• Time Away From Work support (approving and updating vacation requests, running of reports).

Pension & Benefits Administration

• Activate pension and benefits for new hires, administer changes, update coverage, collect forms, etc.
• Respond to employee inquires and questions; redirect to appropriate resources as appropriate
• Work with HR Business Partners for employees on approved leave of absence to ensure accurate pension and benefits administration.

Primary Location

Canada-Ontario-Ajax

• Bachelor’s Degree/College Diploma and/or equivalent related work experience
• PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or working towards this is considered an asset.
• 4+ years’ related work experience.
• Experience with Excel and reporting.
• Comfortability dealing with 3 rd party providers (benefits, EAP, etc)
• Familiarity with benefit plans and able to administer multi-divisional plans.
• Experience with Kronos system is considered an asset.
• Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is considered an asset.
• Experience with Hello Success (Success Factors) is considered an asset.
• Extremely high attention to detail.
• High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
• Must be able to meet tight deadlines and handle competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset.
• Flexibility to work holidays, evenings or weekends if needed for Payroll
