Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Sales & US Operations, the Marketing Manager is responsible for marketing Walters in the North American market through social media and other strategic marketing initiatives that increase brand awareness, attract top talent, generate new business leads, advance existing opportunities and enhance the internal Walters Brand – our culture.
Main Responsibilities will include:
Marketing Strategy and Planning:
Research, co-create with subject matter experts, proofread, and edit copy for various digital channels (including website blog posts, newsletters, and email marketing campaigns), ensuring a consistent voice.
Monitor, maintain, and update social media accounts (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), responding to, or directing, inquiries to appropriate team members in a timely fashion.
Coordinate website updates, including blogs and promotional videos, liaising with sales and operations on an ongoing basis to ensure timelines are met and quality content is achieved.
Liaise with suppliers (i.e. graphic designers, promotional vendors, etc.) as required and solicit multiple quotes for new projects, where appropriate.
Write, edit and distribute internal company-wide communications, working closely with senior leaders.
Define, develop and manage annual marketing plan and budget in line with the Walters Group strategic objectives
Develop metrics and measures of success for marketing initiatives
Marketing Communications and Branding
Oversee the development of marketing collateral such as brochures, thought leadership, articles, event invitations and promotional materials, as needed.
Collaborate with various department leaders to create advertising that adheres to brand standards and communicates key messages to promote Walters UVP to clients, suppliers, partners, and prospective candidates.
Establish and execute ongoing media relations program including developing list of target publications and journalists, developing an editorial calendar, writing and distributing press releases, initiating relationship-building activities with key journalists and editors, setting up and facilitating interviews, monitoring and tracking media coverage.
Support in the development of client presentations and business development events.
Events and Sponsorships
Develop and manage the execution of events involving clients and influencers.
Support the planning and execution of internal events, such as Annual Townhall and others.
Manage all aspects related to identifying and executing of sponsorship opportunities aligned to strategy and manage relationships with sponsorship organizations.
Online and Social Media Marketing
Develop and maintain the Walters Group website including creating and posting new content on a regular basis, making updates as required, reviewing analytics and making improvements as required.
Develop and execute social media strategy including establishment of editorial calendar and creation of content, seeking approvals and posting content and tracking social media conversations and engagement.
Internal Communications
In collaboration with internal stakeholders, develop internal communications strategy with the focus on employee experience, company culture and Core Values
Provide editorial direction, creates some content and oversees the development of News & Notes internal communication.
Oversee the creation and accuracy of content for home page of company Intranet
Desired Skills and Experience
Required
University Degree in Communication or Marketing
Minimum 5 years experience in a Marketing and Communications Role
Desired
Experience in the Construction and Manufacturing Industries
Skills, Knowledge and Competency Requirements
Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, under tight timelines
Hands-on experience in the development and delivery of marketing plans to drive business results and support the company culture
Tech-savvy; demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube) for posting and creating paid advertising campaigns
Solid understanding of search engine optimization and social media best practices
Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g. MailChimp, or other)
Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of video editing/ video production programs would be an asset
Experience with Google Analytics
Experience working with CRM software would be an asset, preferably SalesForce
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing superior customer service
