Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing, the Director, Marketing will help manage the local marketing team, with a mission to maximize artist growth for both domestic and international artists. This position will oversee the execution of artist marketing and promotional plans across Canada, working alongside team members and key internal stakeholders to drive clear objectives and results.

The ideal candidate brings over seven years of team management experience in music and media. They must be able to strategically work across multiple priority projects, communicate with cross functional departments, understand data trends and insights, and effectively manage a diverse team of marketing professionals.

Here You’ll Be Able To

• Help lead the charge on achieving growth and revenue goals.
• Be a strong people leader, overseeing our team of marketing managers, their artist projects and various day to day responsibilities.
• Work with the marketing team and affiliates to develop the strongest and most active bespoke campaigns for each artist.
• Ensure plans are being effectively managed, communicated and acted upon, driving plans while pivoting where necessary in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, with a focus on project management, collaboration and regular communication to keep staff and leadership informed across all developments.
• Help establish and manage our local artist priorities, planning meetings and weekly company reports.
• Manage communication for our team’s roster of artists, general releases, and release schedules to the appropriate people involved via e-mail, slack, and conference calls.
• Work with the VP, Marketing on budgeting for marketing and promotional campaigns, promo trips, and more
• Liaise with global Warner teams and other promotional partners in countries around the world to deliver success and opportunities to their roster of artists in Canada.
• Guide Marketing Managers on the international strategy in Canada for streaming, fan engagement, digital marketing, publicity, advertising, radio and more.
• Help establish and manage our local artist priorities, planning meetings and weekly company reports.
• Join weekly calls with various label affiliates from all over the world to discuss present and future releases, marketing materials, and opportunities.
• Attend necessary concerts and label events for our roster of artists.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with both creative and business-oriented colleagues and partners.
• 7+ years of professional experience in music/media marketing.
• Previous experience in leading the development and execution of fully integrated marketing plans for labels, brands, and/or agencies.
• Experience managing a large team of people.
• Possess an overarching awareness of the musical landscape globally.
• Ability to read and interpret data across various sources to help make informed decisions.
• Ability to easily collaborate with cross-functional team members and colleagues, internally and externally.
• Versatile – highly adaptable in a demanding, fast-moving, ever-evolving environment while being able to approach challenging situations in a mature calm manner.
• Ability to work independently with a high level of organization and discipline.
• Ability to build a strategic view for your artists, matched with an ability to get in the weeds and execute plans.
• In-depth knowledge of all social media platforms and analytics & streaming services.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with added attention to details and deadlines.
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
