The Accounting Clerk plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day accounting for the company. The successful candidate will have a great opportunity to learn a variety of tasks and achieve a good understanding of the full end to end accounting cycle. This includes regular interactions with our front-line brokers, clients and problem solving within our amazing Accounting team. Waypoint is growing and this position will have the opportunity to grow within the Accounting team!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Daily contact with our external clients, dealership partners and internal brokers, covering a variety of areas, including Accounts Receivable payment collection, application and customer account maintenance
· Building, sending and following up on monthly AR statements on a regular basis
· Troubleshooting gaps in the current process and implementing improvements through an eliminate, simplify, standardize, automate mindset
· Monthly General Ledger reconciliations
· Cross train and act as backup on key Accounting tasks
· Contributing to a positive team culture and supporting your coworkers
REQUIREMENTS:
· Minimum 1 year experience in an Accounting related role
· You enjoy being part of a team with a mix of face to face and virtual interaction
· Ability to meet firm deadlines, under potential time pressure
· Building and maintaining relationships comes natural to you
· Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing work priorities
· You have strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience having difficult conversations
· Take initiative to identify and address issues or opportunities, solve problems and address conflict
· Proven ability to work efficiently in Microsoft Excel with Pivot Tables and other formulas (VLOOKUP, SUMIF)
The ideal candidate must be located in Vancouver, BC or Courtenay, BC.
