Construction Manager– PTUS Project – Downtown Toronto

POSITION SUMMARY

Reports to Construction Manager:

As the Construction Manager for the Pape Tunnel project, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the construction process, ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure that all construction activities meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• all construction activities related to the Pape Tunnel project, including excavation, tunneling, concrete work, and installation of underground utilities.
• and implement project schedules, ensuring that construction milestones are met and that the project remains on track.
• project budget and expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities and addressing budgetary concerns as they arise.
• with engineering teams to review design plans and specifications, ensuring that construction activities are aligned with project requirements.
• and mentor construction staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that all team members perform their duties effectively.
• safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel.
• with project stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, and local communities, to address concerns and ensure project success.
• regular progress reports and updates for project stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and achievements.

Education and qualifications:

• degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• of 15 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• track record of successfully managing underground construction projects, including tunnels, subways, or similar structures.
• leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate project teams.
• problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions to complex construction challenges.
• of construction regulations and industry best practices, with a commitment to upholding safety standards and quality assurance.
• or other relevant certifications are preferred.
