PROJECT COST CONTROLLER – PTUS PROJECT – DOWNTOWN TORONTO

POSITION SUMMARY

Reports to: Cost Control Lead

We are a leading contractor tasked with the construction of a significant segment of the Ontario Line. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team in the role of Project Cost Controller. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of project cost, from initial budgeting to tracking actual costs. You will report to the Cost Control Lead and will be working closely with other departments (such as but not limited to: discipline managers, engineers, accountants, HR) to , monitor expenditures, and provide cost-related guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities:

• in the periodical preparation of cost reports and analyze variances
• Cost Codes to various expenses or revenues
• with the various departments for the identification of the appropriate Cost Codes
• various registers and tables of structured information, add or update records as required
• various data and alert on various findings of errors, inconsistencies or opportunities
• detailed actual cost and commitment data into cost system and run complete detailed baseline cost report by package
• and maintain commitments based on procurement contracts, contract amendments, contract change notices, PO revisions or invoices
• periodic reviews and establish and maintain forecasts for all packages and ensure full coding, expenditures and project changes/trends (e.g. Trend and Change Coordinator)
• project contingency requirements, escalation, forex, currencies etc.
• in the trending and change management process and incorporate approved trends into the project estimate at completion.
• in various Risk review meetings
• budget, commitment, forecast, payment and cost statement for monthly report.
• various performance metrics
• periodic reviews and establish and maintain forecasts for various packages
• compliance with Company’s policies and procedures
• understanding of the contractual documentation
• with various departments and stakeholders
• knowledge of project management principles
• skills

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• degree in engineering, accounting or related discipline, or equivalent project-related experience
• 5 years’ experience as a Cost Controller/Cost Technician in a multidisciplinary project environment, or accounting/bookkeeping experience in an Engineering/Construction environment
• personal commitment to safety

• analytical, oral, and written communication skills
• proficiency with cost control principles, policies, procedures, and financial systems
• of SAP is a plus
• or advanced user of MS Excel
