Weldco-Beales MFG Alberta Ltd Looking for Journeyman Plate Fitter – Days/Evenings at Edmonton, AB Full Time

Weldco-Beales Manufacturing designs and manufactures specialized heavy equipment attachments for the construction, forestry, mining, scrap recycling, road maintenance and resource industries throughout Canada, the USA and internationally. Weldco-Beales is currently recruiting a Plate Fitter for the Edmonton manufacturing team on the night shift. This position will report to the General Foreman.

What you will do:

• Work with heavy plate steel to fit heavy machine attachments
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Fabricate steel weldments and use measuring instruments to fit heavy machine attachments
• Assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-units
• Fasten components together (by tack weld) in preparation for a welder to complete the process
• Operate and use various other tools and hand grinders

Your qualifications:

• Journeyman certification in welding and or plate fitting
• A minimum of 2+ years related experience in the manufacturing industry
• Experience plate fitting heavy machine attachments would be an asset
• Overhead crane experience

• Knowledge of safe use of tools pertaining to a fabrication shop
• Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
• Time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent safety record
