About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Control Management Specialist to join the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) International Control organization for the Americas region which is responsible for providing risk management leadership and expertise across the Americas region, including Canada and Latin America.
In this role, you will:
Support the transformation, development, and ongoing leadership and execution of multiple complex and evolving risk and control programs with a primary focus on Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and compliance program activities
Support activities and deliverables related to Risk Controls Self Assessments (RCSA), compliance requirements and regulatory change activity, and related evolving risk programs and requirements for the Americas region
Organize, attend and support execution of RCSA workshops to identify and assess risks and controls, leveraging knowledge and expertise in operational risk, compliance, and financial crimes risk management
Collaborate with the regional business-aligned control team, business process and control owners, stakeholders and Independent Risk Management to identify and assess the unique risks impacting the region, and develop and document effective risk mitigating strategies
Drive alignment across stakeholder groups, run meetings and workshops
Prepare deliverables with different milestones and deadlines, track action items and deliverables
Prepare presentations, status updates, reports for the workstreams and present to management
Remain abreast of changes to enterprise risk programs, policies, procedures and other governing documents and processes
Develop strong working relationships with partners across CIB Banking’s businesses, CIB Control, and Independent Risk Management as it relates to CIB Banking’s risk programs
Participate in various risk program stakeholder forums, working groups, communities of practice, etc. and present regular updates to senior leadership as needed
Support other control management programs and activities as needed
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Risk Controls Self Assessments (RCSA) knowledge/expertise
Strong background in operational risk, compliance, and/or financial crimes risk management, either first or second line of defence
Desired Qualifications:
Advanced excel (familiar with vlookup, pivot tables, advanced filtering, sorting, charting), powerpoint, sharepoint management etc. skills to support aggregation, analysis and presentation of information, preparing executive presentations; able to use PowerBI, VBA tools
Understanding of best-practice risk management techniques across the financial services industry, and knowledge of commercial/institutional/corporate banking businesses, their product types and customers
Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to effectively build and manage relationships with stakeholders at various levels of seniority and in a variety of functions
Ability to operate effectively in a virtual, matrixed leadership environment
Proven project management skills to drive alignment across stakeholder groups to develop and deliver repeatable end to end solutions, ability to manage several projects with different milestones and deadlines and comfortable running meetings, pushing accountable parties, tracking action items and deliverables, creating status reporting, etc.
Working knowledge of Corporate & Investment Banking and Commercial Banking businesses, their products and services, and relevant risks and controls of the business.
Previous experience and meaningful knowledge of the Company’s enterprise risk framework, including practical experience executing risk and control self-assessment activities and compliance program activities.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy used to identify, assess and confidently raise risks and issues, escalate early, and independently engage in delivering and responding to constructive credible challenge.
Highly professional, adaptable, and proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a fast paced and complex environment.
Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written and interpersonal) with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
