WeManageHR Looking for Purchaser and Scheduler – FT at Calgary, Alberta, Canada Full Time

WeMangeHR seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join our valued client Fine Machine Works’ team as a Purchaser and Scheduler in SE Calgary, AB. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the procurement of materials and coordinating the production schedule to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of products.

Responsibilities:

Procurement Management:

• • Source and evaluate suppliers/vendors to ensure the best quality, price, and delivery for materials and tooling required for CNC machining processes.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effectiveness and maintain positive supplier relationships.
  • Regularly review inventory levels and place purchase orders to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.

Production Scheduling:

• • Collaborate with the CNC machine operators, production team, and management to plan and schedule jobs based on priority and capacity.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to meet changing demands and deadlines.
  • Anticipate potential bottlenecks or delays and proactively address them to maintain a smooth workflow.

Quality Control:

• • Ensure materials received meet quality standards and specifications through thorough inspection and testing processes.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any material or supplier-related quality issues promptly.

Inventory Management:

• • Implement efficient inventory control practices to optimize material usage and reduce waste.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and consumption, regularly updating the ERP system.

Cost Control:

• • Continuously seek opportunities to reduce material costs and streamline procurement processes without compromising quality.

Requirements:

• Minimum three years of previous experience in a purchasing/procurement role within the manufacturing industry, preferably in a CNC machine shop setting.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and the materials and tooling required.
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and maintain positive relationships.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload efficiently.
• Proficiency in using MS Office, Databases or similar inventory management systems.
• Knowledge of quality control processes and the ability to ensure materials meet required standards.
• Detail-oriented with a keen eye for handling paperwork and data entry accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to foresee potential issues and implement solutions.
