We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Kitchen Teaching Facilitator – Relief who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment; to our clients, families and each other.
The Kitchen Teaching Facilitator – Relief is responsible for the preparation of food while meeting the in-kitchen training objectives of the Food Services Training. This position is a unionized, relief position. 1-2 positions available. Weekend availability required.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage students in preparing food and the safe operation of kitchen equipment
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Follow the permanent Kitchen Teaching Facilitators’ instructions for food preparation
Follow Job Coach’s instruction for the training program
Clean and sanitize work stations
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously in high quality and in a timely manner
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
Other duties as required
What you will bring:
High School Graduate or GED diploma or equivalent experience
Minimum 2-5 years of operational experience in a high volume kitchen.
Graduate from a recognized cooking school such as Culinary Skills, Chef Training, First Start Food Service Training or equivalent an asset
Strong knowledge of best practices and all applicable standards and legislation related to the food industry.
Excellent communication and documentation skills in English and a second language relevant to the community are required.

As a condition of employment, the successful candidate is required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Human Resources. In the event that successful candidates are unable to get their COVID-19 vaccination, completion of an educational session and weekly antigen testing to provide a negative result will be required.
