West Coast Gifts Looking for Product Designer at Vancouver, BC Full Time

Continually growing and expanding, we are now looking for an exceptional Product Designer to join our innovative team.

The Position:
As Product Designer, you will design and develop new products under the West Cost Gifts umbrella of in-house and licensed brands of borosilicate glass and silicone water pipes, hand pipes and oil rigs, and accessories You will stay up to date with the latest cannabis delivery device trends in the industry to keep WCG relevant and innovative in the marketplace.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Design/curate new glass products for in-house and licensed glass brands.

Design/ curate new silicone products. Generate illustrations for sample requests, specs, and line sheets.

Review sample prototypes on specific projects and communicate revisions to the Production Team.

Test design concepts by physical hands-on testing of samples.

Modify or revise designs to meet customer needs or production limitations.

Support the Product Team and Founding Director in identifying key colour, material, retail, and industry trends and successfully apply these to the product collections.

Generate and manage visual line sheets.

Work with the graphic design team regarding the creation of artwork (decals, logos, etc) for glass products, packaging, and marketing materials.

Work with the Sales team, Processing team, and vendors to remedy quality control issues.

Work with the Marketing team to ensure marketing materials accurately reflect the unique aspects of the products.

Responsible to maintain timely communication flow with WCG suppliers and partners around the world to keep products and production moving smoothly.

Attend industry events and trade shows to stay abreast of industry trends.

Requirements:
College degree or 5 years+ related Design experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Passion for cannabis and cannabis smoking accessories a must.

Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office & Adobe Suite), including product design software solutions.

Exceptional illustration, presentation, and communication skills required.

Ability to interact with co-workers at all levels in a professional manner.

To best succeed in this role, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize your workload at the turn of a dime must come second nature to you.

Self-starter who values collaboration and feedback.

Basic knowledge or experience with 3D printers is also a plus.

Packaging design also a plus.
