Overview of role:
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for being the primary business analyst with key stakeholders to assess and understand business processes and recommend how those processes can be implemented and improved by leveraging technology.
This role will be a key resource in gathering and developing requirements for operations, projects, and will provide input into the scrum methodology for delivering sprints for various products within the portfolio. They will be a trusted senior resource within the business and product focused teams and will help influence business and technology strategy delivered.
Critical to the technology roadmap for IT Performance business unit, the senior business analyst will provide input and feedback to the Director and its leaders to support the multi-year lifecycle of the various practices they support.
Key deliverables / responsibilities include:
- Analyze business and technology processes to understand areas of improvement / efficiency.
- Requirements gathering and development for operations, processes, policies, projects.
- Stakeholder management with business partners and technology peers, describe process/practice functionality and criticality to overall business performance.
- Contribute to the business unit roadmaps in conjunction with the Director / Manager(s).
- Communicate to business and technology stakeholders intake process, working with teams on forming requests with detail that lead to high quality estimates and plans.
- Champion for technology within external business stakeholder groups.
- Research market innovations and advancements within practice and business process area.
- Participate in the development of business cases and budgeting process.
Experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical or business-related area
- 6+ years in relevant technical or business facing teams
- IIBA certification preferred, or working towards certification within first 1-2 years in role
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Passion for process analysis and improvement
- High degree of confidence while influencing stakeholders outside of their team
- Proven track record to communicate both in business and technical fields, ability to translate between the two
- Must have strong understanding in at least (2) of the following areas:
- IT Service Management
- Disaster Recovery
- IT Operations / Network Operations Center (NOC)
- Quality Assurance
- IT Asset Management & Configuration Management
