Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board Looking for Information Technology Support Supervisor at Windsor, ON Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting toSenior Manager of Information Technologyor designate, the Information Technology Support Supervisor will function as part of the IT Management team supervising and directing a team of IT professionals that provide end user, and network support to the WECDSB staff and students. This position will work closely with the Network and Security Manager on various IT initiatives and day-today management task, as well as function as back-up as needed.

DUTIES:

The Information Technology Support Supervisor’s role is to:

• Supervise and direct a team of support technicians
• Assist with Cyber security initiatives
• Assist with network administration and support as required
• Manage IT projects as required
• Research and recommend standards for client systems
• Recommend upgrades and enhancements to client systems
• Coordinate the ordering, configuration, distribution and delivery of computer hardware

• Assist in the ongoing hardware inventory maintenance
• Participate in the testing and evaluation of new hardware/software
• Participate on various committees and user groups as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

• The successful candidate will possess a university degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent, or a minimum 3-year community college diploma in Information Technology

Experience

• The minimum experience level for this position is five years in client hardware, network and operating systems support role
• Supervisory experience would be considered an asset
• Strong understanding of networking topologies and networking administration and problem resolution
• Strong understanding of current Cyber Security threats and concerns

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidate must demonstrate effective verbal/written communication skills as well as the ability to apply tact and good judgment in dealing with all levels of the organization, and discretion when handling confidential information.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team with strong organizational and planning skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and follow through all phases to completion.
• Ability to present ideas in a friendly professional manner
• Must be able to travel within Windsor-Essex County as required

Salary: $70,464.00-$76,177.00 per year
