Job description
Responsibilities:
- Digging holes and trenches
- Pulling cable
- Operating equipment and tools
- Provide assistance with general site preparation and clean-up as directed
- Handle and distribute construction materials, as well as safe loading and unloading vehicles with supplies and equipment as directed
- Able to run gas and power equipment (i.e. saws, drills, jumping jacks)
- Able to assess the work environment for potential health and safety hazards
- Removal of all debris from work sites
- Assist with traffic control as directed
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or relevant experience
- + 6 months of related experience in the construction industry
- Good verbal communication skills and able to work with others
- Ability to safely operate/dig using a mini-excavator around underground utilities is a definite asset
- Must be able to safely lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable health and safety training as per legislative and job requirements
- Ability to follow instructions
- Must be able to work in restricted and tight spaces and at heights
- Must have a valid G Driver’s License or equivalent with a good driver’s abstract
Must be willing to complete an online criminal record check to company satisfaction
