About the Role

Working with a growing number of BI professionals within the Development team, the Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for identifying business intelligence, reporting and data analysis needs. They will build an understanding of the business at a level of detail that enables them to identify, understand, and address critical issues.

The BI Analyst will be required to work cross-functionally and provide data that is accurate, timely and reliable, and ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems.

This role reports to the CTO.

Job Responsibilities

• Take ownership of data projects, from ideation/requirements gathering to complex analysis and presentations.

• Creating reports, dashboards, and developing new structures for business intelligence in ways that will serve a specific purpose.

• Work closely with Executive, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other teams to determine business requirements in order to build and achieve KPIs.

• Overall responsibility for the Microsoft PowerBI platform and any contractors or outsourced services in support of the general solution.

• Work with BI Manager to administer BI servers and maintain them. This includes managing user access, permissions and application security, as well as providing user support for Bl dashboards and reports.

• Work with the department leads to determine prioritization of new requests.

• Provide analysis and problem resolution support to all divisions.

• Provides training on applications (e.g. PowerBI) as required.

• Provide insight and guidance into available data for integration from other systems and complementary applications.

• Running complex reports from existing databases. This includes using SQL, spreadsheets, and PowerBI to deliver analysis on business problems.

• Identify opportunities to improve our product and customer experience.

• Other duties and assistance to the team as assigned by management.

Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Engineering or other related fields.

• 2 years working in an analytical role in the SaaS, Marketing, and/or web publishing industry.

• Experience with MySQL or other SQL-based databases.

• Experience with BigQuery or other data warehouse technologies.

• Experience with PowerBI will be strongly preferred, but experience with any visualization tool will be considered.

• Basic level of experience with software development would be an asset.

Personal Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to write analysis reports and effectively communicate results to developers and other stakeholders.

• Experience working on dynamic teams with other developers, senior developers, and/or project managers, is preferred

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
