Job Summary:
Payment Specialists calculate the average earnings basis for the purpose of processing timely lost time workers’ benefit payments while utilizing the applicable systems.
As a payment subject matter expert and as part of a provincial team, Payment Specialists review, analyze and respond verbally and in writing to enquiries from workplace parties and other WSIB staff. Payment specialists recommend solutions, while appropriately applying the necessary legislation, policy and processes.
1. Validate the accuracy of benefit payment authorizations and determine appropriate information needed when determining the earnings basis according to applicable legislation

3. Document payment histories, provide benefit/payment status, and provide detailed written explanations in response to enquiries adhering to privacy guidelines
4. Performs other related duties as required or assigned
