WPSHC. Looking for Laboratory Assistant at Parry Sound, ON Full Time

Regular Full-Time – 2 Positions

Reporting to the Manager of Laboratory Services, the incumbent will assist Medical Laboratory

Technologists in the collection, separation, filing, sorting, distribution, and data input of biological

specimens. Hours of work are all shifts, including weekends.

Basic Requirements

• Successful completion of a post-secondary program in a Medical Laboratory Assistant field;
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in venipuncture, specimen collection and laboratory procedures;
• Current MLPAO (formerly OSMT) certification or CSMLS certification;
• Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare

references;

• Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of the West Parry Sound Health Centre:

Preferred Requirements

• 1-2 years’ experience in laboratory related work.

Compensation & Benefits

$27.30 – $31.47 per hour (the successful candidate will be placed at the corresponding step according to

their experience)
