WSP in Canada Looking for Construction Site Services Inspector at St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada Full Time

WSP is currently seeking a Junior/Intermediate Inspector to join our Contract Administration department, located at our Hamilton office. Reporting to a Team Lead, this position will be responsible for site review of the construction of earthworks, sewers, water mains, road construction, and road restoration, for conformance to approved drawings and specifications.

Be a part of a team of Project Managers, Engineers, Contract Administrators, Designers, Inspectors, and other staff as required;

• Understand and interpret the requirements and details of the contract drawings and specifications;
• Understand the contractor’s obligations and the client’s responsibilities under the contract; review contractor conformance with approved earthworks and underground servicing drawings, traffic control plans, and other coordination plans as required;
• Maintain digital, written, and photographic evidence during site reviews, including the use of cloud-based software for record keeping purposes;
• Liaison with contractors, clients, general public and municipal officials;
• Quantity measurements for preparation of payment certifications; assist with the administration of the construction contracts;
• Other duties as assigned/required.
• Completion of a (3 year) community college or equivalent program in a relevant engineering technology discipline, architectural technology, or through the possession of a Certificate of Qualification in a skilled construction trade, or the equivalent;
• 3 years (minimum, preferably 5 years) in sewer and watermain construction
• O.A.C.E.T.T. certification as an Engineering Technologist is an asset
• Familiarity with sewers, watermains and road construction materials, methods and processes is an asset;
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications;
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team;
• Must possess sound judgement; strong organizational, administrative, observational and problem-solving skills; effective interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills;
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel), and other Windows and cloud-based computing applications;

A vehicle in suitable working order and valid driver’s license is required
