Join Our Team
We are seeking full time Early Childhood Educators to join our Child Care team. This position is located at the Ches Penney Family YMCA in St. John’s. To be employed in the field of early childhood education and to successfully fulfill field placement requirements, students must be able to lift and move children, materials and equipment (up to 50 pounds) on a consistent basis. As well, physical effort, strength and endurance is required in the supervision and care of children, e.g., maintaining balance, kneeling and bending, pushing and pulling strollers and carts, and moving quickly to assist children in emergency situations.
Job Requirements
Early Childhood Education Certificate, Diploma or Degree
AECENL Certification
Experience working in early learning
Current Emergency or Standard First Aid
Acceptable Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
Our YMCA policy requires all staff to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a valid exemption
