Principal, International Education Programs
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Education – Curriculum and Assessment, the Principal, International Education will support the Superintendent in the strategic planning and management of the Board’s International Education Program, including but not limited to the recruitment of visa students, orientation/program/excursion planning, liaising and fostering productive working relationships, facilitating pathways agreements, and developing various program options which generate revenue.
Major Responsibilities – International Education Programs
Collaborate with Superintendents to promote and support the development of new global education program initiatives.
Collaborate with the Marketing staff to develop materials, social media campaigns and website resources to market the Board’s international education program to agents, parents and students.
Collaborate with the Admissions and Corporate Services Department to develop an infrastructure which appropriately supports international students through partnerships agreements.
Attend student recruitment fairs to meet with agents and establish partnership agreements with agents for the purpose of facilitating the admission of international students.
Actively manage and ensure positive working relationships with agents per agreements, meeting with agents as required, including facilitating site tours of the Board’s school and programs.
Support the intake of international education students and their admission to the Board, including but not limited to payments of tuition, arranging for and scheduling assessments, and the planning of student orientation sessions.
Liaise with school administrators, Guidance Teachers, ESL Teachers and other educational professionals to ensure the successful transition of international students into the school system.
Meet with service providers on a regular basis to ensure that students are being properly and fully supported under the applicable contractual arrangements.
Prepare and manage the International Education Program budget as well as attend Board and committee meetings to support various International Education Program initiatives.
Collaborate with the Continuing Education Department, develop various program options which allow for revenue streams (e.g. short term stays, summer/winter camps, travel for credit and student exchanges.)
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Experience
Minimum of eight years of successful experience in education
Part III of the Religion Education Course (equivalency or commitment to completion of same or another approved program
(ex. The Catholic Leadership Program offered at St. Michael’s University of Toronto).
Positive recommendation from an appropriate supervisory officer.
