Summer Employment 2022
Summer Tech Enabled Learning Teacher
Rate of Pay- $47.54 per hour
Dates: June 29, 2022 – August 5, 2022
The successful candidate will be available to work with the Principal of Continuing Education to prepare and deliver teacher inservices on the following dates:
Staff D2L Training Sessions
June 1, 2022
3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
June 8, 2022
3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
June 15, 2022
3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The Successful Candidate will:
Be committed to the York Catholic District School Board’s Mission and Vision
Foster a Catholic Learning Community, through leadership and collaboration
Support and work collaboratively to develop a shared understanding of the value of learning in a virtual environment and how the provincially licensed Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) can enhance the learning of students, educators, and other school board staff.
Support teacher use of Ministry provided digital resources, especially licensed applications
Facilitate the development, implementation, and sharing of digital resources in the school board to support technology enabled learning and teaching to support Secondary Summer Learning programs
Work with the Principal of Secondary Continuing Education to determine office hours for staff support and prepare and deliver ongoing professional development for summer school staff
Be assigned to a principal to support staff and summer learning programming.
Be on call from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm daily
Required Qualifications/Experience:
Part 1 of the Religious Education Course (or equivalent)
Minimum of three years successful teaching experience in the Intermediate Divisions
Highly knowledgeable with aspects related to Maplewood, D2L and G-suite
Expertise in the relevant curriculum area(s) and specialization/certification as required by Ontario
Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
Applicable qualifications as per staffing guidelines
Desired Qualifications/Experience:
Experience integrating technology into the 9-12 curriculum, with a concentrated focus in the secondary panel, to enhance modern student learning
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Proven ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels
Knowledge and experience in using the VLe ,GAFE
Computers in Education Part 1 (or Equivalent)
Experience providing training and assistance to teachers
Successful implementation of school or board technology projects
Knowledge and support for YCDSB technology EcoSystem
