Education:
Completion of a relevant College Diploma or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below. Additional training in student development and leadership would be an asset.
Experience:
One (1) year recent related work experience in a post-secondary environment. Experience must include working in student engagement, student leadership or student success, and event planning. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and facilitate training and workshops for students. Experience in writing simple reports and information brochure targeted to a student audience. Demonstrated ability to coordinate competing processes and function independently to meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data and prepare written reports for various audiences a variety of formats. Experience in maintaining a database and manipulating data, data entry, retrieving data from financial and student record systems. Knowledgeable in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint at an intermediate level, basic Access skills, including demonstrated knowledge of functions/formulae, creating queries and reports, mail merge. Familiarity with University Student Information is required. Previous student leadership experience would be an asset.

Familiarity with online/web-based content management systems.
Familiarity with event management software and using social media sites such as blogs, WordPress, Twitter, and Facebook.Must be punctual and reliable.
Work independently and as a team member in a high-volume environment with competing priorities.
Additional Notes:
Flexibility in working hours is required to accommodate events on evening and weekends.
