The successful candidate will work directly with clients – both new and existing – and will work with our payroll team, bookkeeping team, and tax team. This is a great opportunity to exercise your knowledge, expertise and experience with plenty of hands-on interaction.
You will have the critical responsibility of handling onboarding of new bookkeeping clients and working with a number of existing clients. You will be required to navigate all of our many apps to ensure a smooth onboarding process. You will be responsible for ensuring you meet all deadlines on a timely basis. You will also be training clients on QuickBooks Online, fixing up files and troubleshooting extensively so your QBO knowledge is our top priority here. This individual will be the first point of contact for new payroll clients and so you will be representing our company to the client, which is of course of the utmost importance.
Our rapidly growing firm has 650+ clients in QuickBooks Online alone, which is the primary accounting system we use. We also use QuickBooks Desktop, Knit, Wagepoint, Payroll Evolution, Rise, Wave, Xero, Sage, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate and process regular Payroll mainly (90%) in QuickBooks Online
- Processing of payroll payments via direct deposit and/or cheques
- Examine and verify accuracy of work and authorize routine payments
- Weekly timesheet upload, review for approval
- Issuance of ROEs using ROEWeb
- Respond to payroll inquiries from employers & employees
- Annual preparation of T4s
- Reconciliation as required
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
- Looking to have this individual help with client onboarding processes
- Depending on the individual, may also help with Bookkeeping work

Education & Skill Requirements
- At least 2-5 years of payroll processing experience with many companies, not just 1
- Must have full knowledge of running full cycle payroll
- Must have QuickBooks Online experience and preferably QuickBooks Desktop payroll experience
- Preferably has ROE Web experience
- Preferably has knowledge of CRA online account access
- Preferably has WSIB experience
- Preferably has Bookkeeping experience
- University Degree or College Diploma in bookkeeping, accounting or a related subject
- Completed PCP or is enrolled in a CPA program is considered an asset
- Above average skills with MS Excel is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a deadline driven environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
