Health and Social Services
This posting will be used to hire one term full-time (75 hours biweekly) position until January 31, 2024, in the Department of Health & Social Services, Mental Wellness & Substance Use Branch, Community Team (North).
You will work collaboratively with other Supervisors, Managers and, when applicable, Directors to establish guidelines for practices and emerging best practices in the field of mental health and substance use including screening, assessment, treatment, consultation and education. You are responsible for program development, clinical supervision, administrative supervision, direction and training, file audits and other quality assurance and improvement initiatives. Meanwhile, you play an important role in developing and strengthening partnerships with local First Nations’ Governments and other service providers to ensure the right community, professional and cultural supports/services are in place to maximize the wellness and successes of the individual accessing services.
Reporting to the Manager of MWSUS, Community Hubs, this position will responsible to provide day-to-day oversight and supervision to the operations of quality clinical services of a team of counselors, clinicians, support workers and mental health nurses, etc. You will excel at building, fostering and managing collaborative and cooperative working relationships. You will be a skilled influencer and proactive problem solver with demonstrated integrity and authenticity. You will demonstrate strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, as well as being innovative in how you accomplish goals and make decisions. You will be a role model with the ability to motivate, mentor, and coach a high-functioning and diverse team drawing on significant clinical and leadership skills. You will understand the importance of culturally appropriate approaches to wellness in service provision in Yukon’s communities.

Essential Qualification
Please submit your resume demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Master’s degree in Social Worker, Psychology, Counselling, Nursing or other related disciplines
Experience building and sustaining relationships with First Nations Government Partners, non-governments and other community partners to promote a collaborative approach to service delivery in a community context
Experience with administration in a health care setting (e.g. program development, evaluation, quality improvement work, HR management, etc.)
Considerable experience working therapeutically with individuals impacted by mental health, trauma, and substance use in a mental health/social services setting – (for example assessment, one and one/group therapy/psychoeducation and case management) especially in, but not limited to, rural, northern communities.
Experience providing clinical and administrative supervision to a multidisciplinary clinical team and delivery of programs in a community context

Candidates should have and maybe assessed on:
Ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment as well as independently
Ability to provide ethical clinical and administrative direction to a multidisciplinary clinical team
Ability to work in a program that is the process of change and developing clinical programming
Effective written and oral communication skill complimented with strong conflict resolution skills
Ability to quickly learn and apply a new digital case management system that moves clinical processes from intake, assessment, treatment planning, progress measurement, to data analysis and outputs/outcomes
Experience with evidence-based and data-driven decision making, especially in regards to providing clinical direction on caseload management
Ability to provide clinical consultation and support to the team

Conditions of Employment: Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector; Valid Yukon Class 5 Driver’s Licence, WHMIS 2015
Job Requirements: Travel and work in both formal and informal work environments within Yukon and outside of the territory.
