SUMMARY
The Credentialing Assistant is responsible to assist with all current and evolving aspects of credentialing and re-credentialing of health care professionals as directed by the Credentialing Manager. This position ensures all health care professionals are appropriately credentialed, which includes the responsibility of monitoring current and changing information on file within the appropriate health care professional database(s), identifying and documenting all changes in a detailed and prompt manner, submitting to the Credentialing Manager daily.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of two years of office experience required with on the job experience in a Medical office or related field preferred. Must have a strong command of the English language, fluency in French is also a strong bonus.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the completion of health care professional credentialing and re-credentialing.
Responsible to ensures up-to-date information is obtained at all times.
Provide consistent and timely follow-up on all outstanding credentialing/recredentialing needs.
Assist with special credentialing projects as directed by Management.
Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records and information at all times.
Participate in various educational/training or recruitment meetings as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to operate a general computer, scanner, and telephone.
Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft
Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
Having some knowledge of medical terminology and systems is an asset.
Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information
accurately, listening effectively and asking questions when clarification is needed.
Must possess excellent skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation and style. Fluency in French is a bonus.
Ability to follow instructions and respond to Managements’ directions accurately.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with a high level of attention to detail. Looks for ways
to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met.
Must be able to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team -oriented environment.
Ability to identify and relay credentialing concerns promptly.
Must possess the ability to manage change, delays, or unexpected events appropriately.
Demonstrates reliability and abides by the company attendance policy.
ESSENTIAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS
This Credentialing Assistant role may cover 8 hrs and up to 15 hours per week, with the possibility to flex with at hand projects.
Must have the ability to commit to 1.5 to 3 hours each day, Monday to Friday.
