Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized person to join our Finance and Administration group as Financial Accountant on a permanent full-time basis. Under the general direction of the Accounting Manager, this position will assist with full accounting cycle, process certain government filings, prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, budgeting and analysis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages
- Coordination and oversight of all aspects of the accounting cycles on regular basis, including providing accounting support to other staff
- Ensure timely government filings and remittances as required
- Review of accounts, variance analysis and perform necessary reconciliations
- Certain bookkeeping and cheque printing
- Ad hoc financial analysis and other duties as requested
Qualifications/ Experience:
Education:
- Diploma in Accounting or Finance
Qualifications:
- Over 3 years of relevant work experience
- Superior organization skills
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to multitask and manage expectations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and deadline
- Strong analytical, technical accounting, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Excel and Caseware
- Experience with Simply Accounting, Sage, and Quickbooks would be an asset
