Position Overview:
This position facilitates the transport of good in the most cost effective, timely manner in order to meet customers’ and companys’ requirements, while considering profitability on each shipment.
Position Type: Permanent
Location: Richmond, BC
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepares rate quotations for customers based on best cost and routing methods available for both import and export business
- Coordinates with overseas agents on the readiness of cargo and maintains regular status updates on our website to facilitate customer viewing.
- Develops consolidations to maximize revenue and ensuring maximum capacity while meeting customer’s required ETA
- Addresses and communicates to customers any shipping problems and/or delays to customers and problem solving through internal or external methods
- Obtains new rates from carriers for comparison and submission of quotations to customers
Required Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:
- Positive attitude and even temperament
- Ability to work both independently and as team with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Preference will be given to candidates with logistics experience
- Proficient in MS Office especially Excel
