Key Job Elements:
Develop and maintain XML stylesheets for technical publications across all programs
Provide application support for XML authoring environments including authoring tools and integration with Content Management Systems (CMS)
Develop and maintain workflows and lifecycles
Be an active contributing member of IT, upgrade and business process projects
Test software code and processes
Assist in the investigation, analysis and recommendation of resolutions
Interface with the IT department as required to resolve issues
Interface with subcontractors when required
Support software implementation and upgrades
Support project management tasks for major activities
Investigate logistics specifications and standards for technical publications development
Develop utilities to analyze data, generate reports, present data, and deliverables for customers
Support the development of departmental procedures, utilities and tools
Position Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, DevOps or related field
Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience
Experience with XML programming, editing and defining files using either DTDs or XML Schemas
Experience with programming language, such as XSL, FOSI, Java,VB.NET, VBA, Javascript, XPath
Experience with web-based development tools
Experience with CMSs
Experience with relational databases from a development and support perspective
Experience in implementing technical publications specifications and standards
Experience with software tracking and IT project management tools, i.e. Atlassian Software Applications
Highly effective planning, analytical and negotiation skills
Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation)
Mentor team members when required
Ability to assess project requirements and deliver IT solutions that aid continuously improvement initiatives
Ability to travel (5% Canadian, 5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) configurations
Information Technology, IT Project Management, or Business Analysis experience
Familiarity with Business Process Analysis for IT and business process projects
Familiarity with DevOps relationships
