Responsibilities:
- Writing and maintaining documents of changes to PLC code, programs, and specifications.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, HMI’s, and calibration equipment.
- Modifying and maintaining PLC software.
- Create a database of plant programs.
- Provide training and skills evaluations for shift technicians.
- Plans and executes software and program updates.
- Diagnose and resolve system problems.
- Be able to keep detailed records of project scope and timelines.
- Assist on-shift technicians with troubleshooting production equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical systems.
- Work with all vendors (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Omron).
- Shift coverage and shift work may be required.
- Create a positive work environment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid license, or more than 10 years of experience in the trade is required.
- Related designation in PLC programming is preferred.
- Knowledge of complex electrical systems, PLC programming, troubleshooting, data collection, and root cause analyses.
- A team builder who is self-managed and able to set priorities among conflicting priorities.
- Tenacious – does not give up.
