Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator will work closely with Operations and Engineering to coordinate the inventory of materials, manage material planning and logistics for shipping/receiving.
Role Description:
- Plan and coordinate transportation of materials and manage the timely flow of customer orders (finished product).
- Provide and maintain good customer service and solve problems.
- Adhere to shipping/receiving and regulatory-compliance procedures.
- Comply with laws, regulations, and standards.
- Complete documentation such as pick lists, bills of lading, work orders and shipping orders using computer-based technology
- Complete daily shipping and receiving logs
- Dispatch freight for delivery and arrange for pickups
- Record shipment data such as weight, charges, and damages
- Contact carrier representative to plan and issue shipping instructions and delivery of materials.
- Rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and non-conformation to specifications
- Document and escalate any customer service issues and/or shipping/receiving errors
- Assist with training of new employees
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with those on your team, as well as cross-functionally.
- Assist with cycle counts under the direction of the cycle counter to ensure accurate knowledge of product location, condition, and quality.
- Back up for the Purchaser when required as well as assist Purchaser with locating material to be shipped out.
- First point of contact for all drivers at loading docks.
- Provide direction to the forklift drivers for shipment instructions.
Competencies:
- Prior Logistics/Customer Service experience is preferred
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment an asset
- Expert ability to effectively communicate with individuals/groups from varied backgrounds and skill levels
- Must be proficient with MS Office (especially Excel)
- Task oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $37,500.00-$40,000.00 per year
