Role
The Technician – Electronics is responsible to provide technical services and support, performing maintenance of equipment and electronic systems and managing the conception and installation of new components and electronic systems. Ensure the effective operation and maintenance of Canal system and structures.
Responsibilities
Maintain, inspect, adjust, and repair electronic instruments and equipment using a radio communication simulator, oscilloscope, frequency generator, waveform analyzer, frequency meter, photometer and other gauges to ensure proper equipment operation.
Install, configure, test and commission new or upgraded systems.
Perform testing and prepare reports as required.
Respond to breakdowns; troubleshoot and participate in the restoration of operations.
Provide technical expertise as required.
Participate in the execution of various projects and assignments.

Proficiency in applicable computer applications, tools and related office software (Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.)
Experience and knowledge
Minimum of three (3) years practical technical experience in industrial electronics in both the field and shop.
Intermediate/advanced knowledge of computers and IP technology.
Specialized electronic technical knowledge (PLC).
Knowlege of applicable procedures, rules, regulations, standards and safe work practices with respect to performing duties.
Education
College Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology
Certifications
Eligibility for certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists as a Certified Technician (ON)
Valid Class G (ON) or Class 5 (QC) driver’s license and insurable driving record
Projected start date: 01/25/2022
Hours of work: 40 per week
Pay Grade: O&M 7
Salary:
Step 1 : $41.15/hour
Step 2 : $43.74/hour
