Breathe Biomedical’s Technology:
Breathe Biomedical’s platform technology has sensitivity to detect volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the breath down to the parts per trillion. The platform is comprised of three (3) proprietary devices, a Breath Sampler to collect breath, a ‘Spectrometer’ to process breath samples and a MLA software that analyzes raw spectral data from the Spectrometer to identify the presence of disease. The Breath Sampler is a portable tabletop device used to collect alveolar air from subjects quickly and efficiently and concentrate VOCs from alveolar air into a thermal desorption tube, which can then be transported to a central lab for analysis. The Spectrometer is a highly sensitive device into which a breath sample-filled sorbent tube is loaded. The VOCs in the sorbent tube are mobilized through application of standard heating protocols and injected into the ring down chamber for analysis. The Spectrometer uses three advanced infrared lasers to probe the VOCs’ optical absorption properties.
